Award-winning cookbook author Lina Saad recommends this incredibly refreshing drink, perfect for sunny days like this. The combination of lemons and fresh strawberries with a hint of rose water is just exceptional.

Taken from her new book, Ramadan Express, which brings together more than 85 recipes in a practical guide for those wishing to cook imaginatively during Ramadan, but with little fuss.

6 lemons

300g fresh sweet strawberries

1tbsp rose water

150g sugar (you may need to add more, that it your personal taste)

1.2 litres water

Ice cubes

Step 1. Peel the lemons and cut into quarters and remove any seeds.

Step 2. Rinse the strawberries under cold water quickly and place in a colander to drain the excess water.

Step 3. Into the blender blitz the lemon, half the amount of sugar and strawberries with half the amount of water. Give it a taste to see if you need more sugar.

Step 4. Now add the rest of the water, sugar and the rose water to enhance its flavour.

Step 5. Give all the ingredients another blitz until all smooth and then pass through a sieve to get rid of any strawberry grains or lemon bits.

Step 6. Serve in your desired glassware and enjoy!
