Thousands of people from all cultures joined together in London for the Mayor of London's annual Eid Festival on a sunny Sunday in Trafalgar Square. 

2nd July 2017 saw crowds flock to London's Trafalgar Square to celebrate the end of Ramadan with the Mayor Of London and the London Halal Food Festival

Highlights included the legend Yusuf Islam AKA Cat Stevens and teen heart-throb Harris J singing to an adoring audience.  Other live appearances on the main stage hosted by BBC's Noreen Khan included Cheb Nacim, Safe Adam and a line up from Shubbak Festival.


In our very own London Halal Food Festival Chef's Theatre audiences gathered to watch top chefs, including BBC MasterChef 2017 Champion Saliha Mahmood-Ahmed, cooking up a storm with super-exciting live cooking demonstrations. Also joining compere Tommy Sandhu on stage to share their expert tips and tricks and fine culinary skills were Michelin-starred Meryem Mortell from Zyan restaurant, Hamza the Great British Halal Chef from HS & Co, Lina Saad author of Ramadan Express and Encina Barragan from artisan Halal charcuterie The Ojos Foods.

Other delicious delights on the day ranged Moroccan to Malaysian in the Global Food Market, where guests enjoyed delicious cuisines and cooled off with refreshing lassies, Mocktails and shakes.

The sunny day of festivities was topped off with an array of shopping from clothing and jewellery to arts, crafts and books. From the heart of historic London, at the end of a day of celebrations thousands of happy guests went home with a smile and face paint on their faces and henna adorning their arms.
